BIO

Born and raised in Kihei, Maui, Kala’e Camarillo comes from a multi-generational family of musicians and music educators. As a high school senior in 2009, he and his cousin won the statewide talent search competition, “Band Champ,” earning the opportunity to open for two legendary acts: The Stylistics and America.

Since then, Kala’e has released four solo albums, received six Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards (Hawaiian Grammy’s), and been recognized as one of Hawaiʻi’s top male vocalists in both 2020 and 2022. He performs regularly throughout the islands and frequently shares the stage with Grammy nominated Robi Kahakalau. Continuing his family legacy, Kala’e also serves as a music educator at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, home to one of Hawaiʻi’s most prestigious performing arts programs.
